Cinnabon

When I went to London last year, I was advised by my sister to try Cinnabons, but I wasn't very into it, as I had already tried some cinnamon rolls and I hadn't like it at all.
Well, I tried it in Piccadilly Circus - they were offering outside their store - and I felt like I was eating a piece of heaven: very moist, sweet, with no raisins and a very very good taste of vanilla.
I went there another two or three times before I left, but I could never eat anything like that again.

Banana-pineapple smoothie

My favourite lunch these days has been a fruit smoothie, more precisely, a banana and pineapple smoothie. It's very easy and quick to make and it tastes really good, specially if the banana is not too green nor too ripe and the pineapple is ripe enough to be sweet.
I don't use any other ingredients, I mix it for three minutes in a blender and enjoy it while it lasts.

Grilled veggies

See how big it was?
Chopped courgette and onion
Toasting
Today I wanted to eat a healthy dinner that would satisfy my appetite but with a very low amount of calories. That's why I cuted one very big courgette and one onion into chunky disks, I threw it to a pan without adding any kind of fat and let it grill on both sides.
I seasoned it with salt and I was good to go.
You can also add tomatoes, carrots, red or green peppers or green beans.
It's very tasty and it smells really nice.

Granola

I've been wanting to make granola for a while and today I decided to give it a try. I made a very simple recipe that can be modified with any ingredients you'd like.

You need:

3 cups of oats
1 cup of grated coconut
1 pinch of salt
1 tea spoon of cinnamon
1 tea spoon of vanilla essence
6 table spoons of honey

Preheat the oven to 150ºC.
In a large bowl mix all the ingredients except for the honey with a spoon. You can add fruits like strawberries, bluberries, any kid of nuts you like or even chocolate chips.
Add the honey and mix everything together with your hands, so it's evenly distributed.
With a piece of paper or a cooking brush grease a pyrex plate.
Place the mixture in the plate, spread it and press it.
Put it in the oven for about 45 minutes and turn it over with a spoon every ten minutes.
Let it cool for a while and it will get crispy.
You can eat it with milk, yoghurt or cream cheese.

Fluffy pancakes

Today I made old fashion american pancakes for breakfast and I was surprised with how easy the whole process was. It makes you work your biceps, but it's only for a little while and the final result is really tastefull. I couldn't eat more than one and a half, but here you have the recipe for eight pancakes:

You need:
300g of wheat flour
1 tea spoon of yeast
3 table spoons of sugar
1 pinch of table salt
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup of milk
60g of margarine

Lightly mix the flour, the yeast, the sugar and the salt with a fork and make a hole in the middle where you put the eggs. Scrumble them and add the milk and the melted margarine. Stir it with a whisk until there are no lumps at all.
Heat a non-stick pan with a nob of butter, margarine or oil (level 3 or 4 on an electric stove, medium power on a gas stove). Put a scoop of dough in the hot pan and turn it after at least one minute with the help of a spatula.
You can eat them with butter, refined or brown sugar, maple sirup, honey, fruit, yogurt or any kind of jam. I also think it's good with cheese.

The hole toast

This dish reminds me of my childhood, when I used to spend the whole day on the beach in Benidorm and, in the evening, after a refreshing bath, I almost always had this toast for dinner. It's very simple, yet very comfortable, and I had the opportunity of trying it again last summer, after a long time apart.

You need:
2 loaves of bread
sliced cheese (as much as you want)
sliced ham (as much as you want)
1 egg

Toast the loaves of bread for a little while. Put the slices of cheese and of ham on top of one of them.
Fry an egg and place it on your sandwich. Cover it all with the second slice of bred, but only after you made a hole on it, right above the egg yolk.
If you like, spread it with butter.
Place it in the oven just a little bit for the cheese to melt. Eat with french fries.
